Plenty of reviews here recommend a free tool over a paid one, or say a tool is not worth it. Some tools covered here pay nothing at all.

How tools are chosen

A tool gets written about because it solved a real problem in my own work, or because it is the obvious option people are considering and someone should actually test it.

Payment for reviews

I do not accept payment in exchange for a review, for a positive rating, or for a specific ranking position. If that ever changes, it will be stated on this page and on the article itself.
